Enlistment
During World War I, the U.S. was having trouble mobilizing their troops as well as gathering them. This is why the Committe of Public Information, headed by Creel, was created. The main purpose of the group was to promote the war and getting the citizens to be excited for the war. Propaganda was use during this time as posters are scattered everywhere to have men join the army. There were other ways that the war was promoted such as movies and songs. But in order to quickly get men into the army, Conscription was ratified and required men the ages of eighteen through forty five to join the army.
